We all know developing our team and helping them to get to know each other is crtical. But how do we do it. Head off to the pub? Buy all a pizza? Employ a facilitator? Do a psychometric like Myers-Briggs, DISC or Insights?
All have their place and by the way I can help run such a workshop if you want that. But my suggestion is maybe you can do a lot yourself. Simply by getting your team to talk a little deeper using the questions below suggested by my great friend Stef Du Plessis.
Developing depth of relationships in your team
Ask the team to talk to each other about:
- Where did you grow up?
- Who was your favourite teacher? Why?
- What was your ambition as a child?
- What was the highlight of their childhood?
- What was tough in childhood?
- Tell me about your siblings.
- What was your first job?
- What was your worst job – Why?
- What was your best job? Why?
